The Groom Lake Facility, in the Nevada desert at Nellis, is better known as Area 51. It is where all technology brought back through the Stargate is sent for study. For example, new cures to the Alzheimer's disease are studied there, and so are the notes that Daniel brought back from Heliopolis.

There are several high security areas in this facility. For example, the quantum mirror was stored in a hangar in which many lasers prevent anybody to break in. Indeed, in someone goes through one of them, armed guards will arrive within seconds.

The two death gliders SG-1 brought back when they escaped from Apophis' vessel were also studied in Area 51, and were used to create X-301, hybridization of Goa'uld and Earth technologies, and later, the F-302.
